WEDDINGS GETTING SOME PUPPY LOVE

Compiled and photographed by Elena Couper

TUXEDO-CLAD terriers and ring-bearing rottweilers could soon become wedding staples, with demand for dog-inclusive ceremonies skyrocketing ahead of the new year.

Four-legged friends are landing a starring role in the celebrations, with a new Guide Dogs survey finding 94 per cent of dog owners plan to include their beloved canines in the wedding ceremony of their big day.

The most popular nuptial doggie duties are starring in the first dance, walking the bride down the aisle, being "best man" and taking on ring-bearer responsibilities.

For Dilan and Serhat, who were married at Luminare on Sunday. including their vizsla, Zara, on the day was "unquestionable".

"We see Zara as part of the family ... and as much as I would love my sisters, my Mum or my Dad to be there, that's how much we wanted her with us too," Dilan said.

"Everything was smooth sailing. other than the weather, which was a bit hot for her."

Dilan recommended a wedding pet chaperone to help out, lest the bride be forced to bag a poop in her wedding dress (below).
